Year 7 (11+) Entrance Exam (2025 applications)

Information to follow shortly.

Individual Candidate Meetings
As part of our admissions process, all registered candidates will be invited along for an individual 20-minute meeting with a member of our teaching staff. These meetings will take place during November whilst the students are in Year 6. We believe this will allow us to get to know candidates better, identify potential, and for them to speak about their interests, hobbies and aspirations. Students with special educational needs will be met by a member of our Learning Support team to make them feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. During the meetings, parents will be hosted in our original school building, Old Big School, and have the opportunity to speak with senior members of staff and the Admissions Team.

Headteacher’s Confidential Reference
In addition to the entrance assessment and candidate meeting, we will also request a confidential reference from each student’s current school as part of our admissions process.

Academic Scholarships (available at 11+ and 16+ only)
Entry is automatic, therefore no application is required.  Decisions for awards are based on the top performing candidates in the entrance exam together with a review of the notes from both the individual candidate meetings and current school references. Academic Scholarships Awards include a reduction in school fees of up to 10%.

Specialist Scholarships
We offer five specialist scholarships at 11+ in Chess, Dance, Drama, Music (including singing) and Sport. Following a review of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend assessment days for these subjects which will take place in December and January. Students can apply for up to three specialist scholarships. To find out more about these scholarships, visit our Bursaries and Scholarships page. A specialist scholarship is worth up to 10% of the fees.
