We are incredibly proud to announce that our Skip Around the Globe Challenge has officially been completed, and what an amazing achievement it has been for all of our pupils.

Over the past few weeks, children across the School have shown fantastic enthusiasm, determination, teamwork and resilience as they skipped their way towards some impressive collective goals.

KS2 – Around the World!

Our KS2 pupils set themselves the enormous challenge of skipping the circumference of the globe, an incredible 40,075km, and they did it! Every skip counted as pupils worked together to travel the equivalent distance around the Earth. It was wonderful to see such energy and commitment from all year groups, with children encouraging one another and celebrating milestones along the way.

KS1 – Around the UK Coastline

Not to be outdone, our KS1 pupils collectively skipped an impressive 4,400km, matching the distance around the coastline of the United Kingdom. Their enthusiasm and perseverance were truly inspiring, and they embraced the challenge with huge smiles and endless determination.

EYFS – A Local Adventure

Our youngest pupils in EYFS also took part in the challenge by collectively skipping the distance from Brentwood Prep School to Shenfield Train Station and back again – a total of 2 miles! This was a fantastic introduction to teamwork, physical activity and goal-setting for our youngest children, who thoroughly enjoyed being part of the whole-school event.

More Than Just Skipping

The Skip Around the Globe Challenge has been about far more than exercise. Pupils have developed:

teamwork and cooperation
resilience and perseverance
personal goal-setting skills
confidence and fitness

Most importantly, it brought the whole school community together in a fun and active way.

Looking Ahead: Race Across the Globe, 12th June

This challenge has been the perfect prelude to our upcoming Race Across the Globe event on 12th June. We are excited to be showcasing some of our amazing skippers at the event and would greatly appreciate all the support you can give.

We would love families, friends and supporters of the Prep community to come along, cheer everyone on and even pick up a skipping rope themselves!

As well as being a fun and energetic community event, all proceeds will go towards our school bursaries. Your support helps Brentwood School continue to provide life-changing opportunities for talented young people, regardless of their financial background.

This is also a brilliant opportunity for the Prep community to climb the fundraising leaderboard and show the Senior School exactly what the Prep can do.

A huge thank you goes to all pupils and families for supporting the challenge and helping make it such a success. We are incredibly proud of every child who took part.
