Years 3 & 5 Dance Workshops with Senior Students
Earlier this week, on Monday and Tuesday, our Senior School students put their Enrichment days to fantastic use by running a series of high-energy, high-impact Dance workshops for all of Year 3 and two Year 5 classes. It was a spectacular showcase of talent, creativity, and the power of our 3-18 school community.
Our Senior Dance students expertly choreographed two impressive routines tailored for the younger pupils. Demonstrating great patience and leadership, they broke down the choreography step-by-step, giving everyone the confidence to join in and catch the rhythm. The highlight for many in Year 3 was the grand finale of each routine, where pupils were encouraged to show off their own personal flair with a free-style pose – something they were still enthusiastically striking around the School corridors days later!
These cross-phase collaborations bring out the absolute best in our School. For the younger pupils, looking up to older students provides energetic, relatable role models to inspire their own growth. For the Senior students, stepping into the role of teacher offers invaluable real-world experience in communication, coaching, and confidence building.
The excitement from our pupils says it all:
| “Fantastic!” | “It was great!” | “We liked how they broke it down and taught it part by part.” | “We liked how we could do our own free-style pose at the end!” |
A massive thank you to Mrs Carabache, Miss Coote, and our brilliant Senior School students for sharing their expertise, enthusiasm, and talent so generously with our younger year groups.
This is only the beginning, we have plenty more exciting 3-18 collaborations planned across the rest of the academic year. And a quick note to the rest of Year 5: don’t worry, your turn is coming very soon!
