Parents' Association - FoBS

Friends of Brentwood School (FoBS) is an association of parents and teacher volunteers who help to organise social and fundraising events throughout all parts of the School.

We provide a friendly, social network for parents beyond the School gates, whilst raising funds for those extra little touches that make being a part of Brentwood School really special for both pupils and parents.

FoBS funds are raised via a series of events; cake sales, fairs, nearly-new uniform sales, the winter ball held at the School, wine-tasting, dinners, race days, lunches, gala nights and shopping trips.

Undoubtedly, there is a huge bank of skill and talent amongst Brentwood parents, and we would be delighted if you joined us!

There are many ways to help, including assisting with events or joining our FoBS committee - we'd really appreciate any form of help, big or small! We're always looking to welcome new parents, so please email FoBS to find out how you can become involved or volunteer.

• 16th October: Pre-Loved Prep & Senior School Uniform Sale from 9.30-11am
• 16th November: FoBS AGM
• 17th November: Bicester Shopping trip Tickets are £25, travel is via coach and everyone is welcome! Please email Ashley for more details and to book
• 25th November: Christmas Fayre at the Prep School

Nearly New Uniform

Senior and Prep School pre-loved uniform sales take place on set dates each term, in a dedicated room in the Garden Building at the Prep School from 3.40pm until 5pm. This initiative has been gratefully received by parents and has raised approximately £7,000 to date.

When our pre-loved uniform sales take place, please park in the Higgs Prep School car park (the entrance via Shenfield Road, shared with Nuffield Hospital) and head to the black gates (to the right of Taskers House), where the sale will be signposted.

If you have any uniform to donate, please add it to the boxes outside the Prep School gates during the week of the sale. Any Senior School donations should be left in labelled bags outside the Porter's office. Please ensure items are clean and pockets are empty.

FoBS Fundraising

This year we have focused our efforts on raising £20,000 for a 50-person, wooden sports shelter, to be built next to the Prep School Astro.

We have also contributed towards the Senior and Prep School House flags, House Cross-Country and Prep Sports Day medals, portable floodlights, benches, Year 2 Moving Up gifts, Year 6 Yearbooks and disco decorations, the Upper Sixth Leavers’ reception, as well as funding towards the table tennis tables, Duke Of Edinburgh’s Awards kit, outdoor trikes and teddy bears for Reception, the Trim Trail and much more:

• £1,400 towards table tennis tables in the Prep School playground
• £460 towards outdoor trikes for reception pupils
• £700 towards teddy bears for new Foundation Year (3+) children
• £2,500 towards flood lighting for Senior School sports pitches
• £200 for event shelters
• £1,600 for the Duke of Edinburgh kit
• £10,000 towards Prep Trim Trail
• £2000 towards School Benches
• £1107 towards the Eco Waste Disposal Recycling Project
• £1647 towards the Upper Sixth Leavers’ Reception

EasyFundraising

Friends of Brentwood School (FoBS) is registered with EasyFundraising.

Whenever you buy anything online from your weekly shop to your annual holiday you could be raising free donations for FoBS with EasyFundraising and it won't cost you a penny extra!

All you need to do is:

1. Click here to join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to the EasyFundraising weblink first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you've checked out, the retailer will make a donation to FoBS at no extra cost to you whatsoever.
