The Pathway to Success
The School offers three pathways in the Sixth Form: A Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) and BTEC Extended Diplomas in Sport and Business.
These three pathways ensure that students can be placed on the courses to which they are best suited and allow them to flourish at Brentwood and beyond.
The statistics below represent the dedication and excellence of our teaching staff and the hard work and application of our students, and we are justifiably proud of their achievements.
Outstanding Results
The IB Diploma Class of 2025 at Brentwood returned an average of 38 points. 28% of the IB Diploma cohort scored 40 points or more, with three securing the maximum total of 45.
133 students took A Level examinations at Brentwood and a strong set of results saw 43.3% graded A* or A. 13% of A Level results were A* and 81.7% of results were A*-B. The pass rate at A Level was 100%.
In 2025, all 37 BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved their first-choice outcome. 11 students attained the equivalent of A*A*A* and 10 students secured the equivalent of A*A*A. Our high-achieving BTEC cohort (28 in Business, nine in Sport) are heading to a range of destinations, further illustrating the School’s aim to enable all students to achieve their best possible outcomes.

A Level Excellence
Among the many individual stories of success was Head of School, Joe P, who played for the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) England team for two years and was offered several US football scholarships.
His 3 A*s and 1 A secured him a place at the London School of Economics, to study Accounting and Finance. Joe, who felt quite nostalgic, said:
“This is the perfect end to my journey at Brentwood.”

Three Students Achieve Top IB Points
Within the group of elite IB performers, three scored the maximum of 45 points, an achievement matched by only around 0.3% of students worldwide.
Achinta K was one of these students and has had a busy year serving as Secretary General of the School’s Model United Nations Society as well as running the London Marathon. Achinta, who is looking forward to studying Economics, Finance and Data Science at Imperial College, said:
“My parents couldn’t be happier!”
It is fantastic to see the achievements of all our outgoing Upper Sixth Students as they look to their future ‘Beyond Brentwood’. It is always so exciting to see the range of pathways our students take, such as entering universities in the UK and across the world, or taking up apprenticeships and employment roles.

Outstanding BTEC Results
Brentwood students achieved exceptional success in the BTEC Extended Diploma (in Business and Sport), with every BTEC student securing their first-choice destination at universities (including UCL, Bristol, Exeter, Nottingham, Bath, York and Liverpool), highly sought-after degree apprenticeships or employment.
On average, our BTEC students achieved 155 UCAS tariff points, the equivalent of A*AA at A Level, a result worth celebrating.
We are very proud of our outgoing Upper Sixth students for their academic achievements across all three of our Sixth Form pathways, and grateful for the hard work of their teachers and support of their parents in helping them achieve these grades.

We are very proud that every year the majority of our students are accepted to their first choice of university but recognise that university is not for everyone.
We are equally proud of our students who pursue different routes, whether these be apprenticeships or directly into the workplace and aim to ensure that all students have outstanding career guidance.
