Brentwood School Equestrian Team Triumph at NSEA Showjumping Competition
Brentwood School’s Equestrian team had a truly triumphant day at the recent National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Showjumping Competition held recently at the Barleylands Equestrian Centre in Billericay.
Anna C made her debut for Brentwood’s Equestrian team and rode two beautiful rounds in the 50cm and 60cm class to win both and qualify for the Grassroots Showjumping Championships at Hickstead International Showground in August. She was also awarded the prize for the most stylish round which is a great accomplishment, well done Anna!
Amelie M rode a clear round in 60cm for 6th place and qualified for the Grassroots Championships. Amelie also went on to be placed 4th in the 70cm class qualifying for the National Championships held at Addington Equestrian Centre, Bucks in October and was crowned the 70cm Essex County Champion as the highest placed Essex rider.
The 80cm team all jumped fabulous clear rounds to record a wonderful win, thereby earning the Essex County 80cm Champions team title. The team also qualified for the National Championships at Addington Equestrian Centre in October. Individual results were superb too with Lucy C crowned Essex County Champion, Rae B 3rd, Olivia D 5th and Lucy L 8th. Lucy and Rae will contest individually at the October championships on top of their team qualification.
The team continued with their winning ways to take the 90cm Essex County team title, qualifying again for the October National Championships. Individually, Rae was 3rd, Olivia 4th, Lucy L 5th and Lucy C 6th with Rae and Olivia qualifying individually for the October Nationals. The team also qualified for the New Windsor Team Championships being held on the gala evening at the Nationals.
The last class of the day for Brentwood saw clear rounds from Olivia who placed 4th and Lucy C who placed 5th.
It was a busy but highly successful day with lovely displays of horsemanship resulting from dedicated training making it all worthwhile. We are very excited that the team is going to the National County Championships at the end of May, the Grassroots Championships in August and the National Championships in October.
Well done team, you made Brentwood School proud!
