Brentwood School Welcomes LTA President to Celebrate Tennis Excellence
We were delighted to welcome LTA President Sandi Proctor and representatives from Essex Tennis to Brentwood School on Thursday 20th November 2025. Their visit provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase the strength and breadth of our whole school tennis programme, while celebrating the talent and enthusiasm of our young players.
Pupils from Foundation to Year 9 filled the Prep Courts with energy as they demonstrated their skills, trained alongside our BSTA coaching team and enjoyed conversations with our distinguished guests.
Our youngest players, Hugo S and Raja T, took part in a joint BSTA Blue session led by coach Josh Ratnage, focusing on fundamental movement skills and refining their forehand technique. Year 3 pupils stepped up to a competitive challenge in a Mini Red Matchplay event led by Adam Hogarth, where they put their developing skills to the test.
Meanwhile, Lower Sixth boarding student, Sima I, who is currently undertaking her LTA Level 1 Coaching Qualification, took the opportunity to lead a dynamic serving session for a group of our Year 6 rising stars. They responded brilliantly to her engaging and confident coaching.
Representing team tennis from our Senior School, Oscar V, Arjun M, and Alexander L from Years 8 and 9, worked on doubles tactics with coach Sam Bayda. Oscar, Arjun and Alexander recently secured an impressive 3rd place for Brentwood School in the South East Regional Finals.
Throughout their visit, Sandi and the Essex Tennis team spent valuable time speaking with our pupils about their roles within the sport and inspiring our next generation of tennis players.
It was a privilege to welcome Sandi and the Essex Tennis delegation to Brentwood. A huge thank you to everyone involved in creating such a memorable and motivating experience for our budding tennis stars!
