National Selection for Brentwood Football Students
Over the Christmas holidays, three Brentwood School students were selected to represent the prestigious Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) international representative football squads.
This achievement followed an intensive training camp held at St George’s Park National Football Centre and two high-profile fixtures. The ISFA representative squads comprise the best footballers from independent schools across the country.
Upper Sixth Former Joe P was selected for the U18 representative squad, playing in fixtures against Wales Colleges and English Colleges. Joe captained the team against English College, a game the team won comfortably. Joe has been involved in the ISFA national set-up for the last three years and has been a tremendous ambassador for the school football programme.
Year 11 students Josh H and Joe P were both selected as members of the U16 representative squad and played in fixtures against English Colleges and the Derby County U16 Academy showcasing their skills. Both Josh and Joe had impressed in multiple trials since the start of September and played in both fixtures during the training camp. Their selection for the national squad was well-deserved, particularly as they have demonstrated outstanding commitment to school football since Year 7.
All three students were also selected to represent the ISFA representative squad in a scheduled fixture against Australia. Unfortunately, this fixture was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Well done to Joe, Josh and Joe on this outstanding achievement, a testament to their hard work and dedication to football at Brentwood School.
