National Youth Theatre Success for Eight Students

In late January, Brentwood School Drama Department were thrilled to welcome two delegates from the National Youth Theatre to run a fantastic workshop and audition day. Over 30 students from Year 9 to Lower 6th took part and both delegates were incredibly
impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm shown across the year groups. All participating students enjoyed experiencing a taste of a professional rehearsal setting and the challenges that it can present.

The National Youth Theatre is incredibly competitive, averaging 5,000- 6,000 auditionees each year from all across the country. The results of these auditions were sent out over the Easter holidays, and the department would like to proudly congratulate the eight successful students who have been offered places on National Youth Theatre courses for the coming summer. Students Alex W, Anaya S, Lois E, Tireni O, Simi A, Oliver B, Anisha N and Amelia P, were delighted to receive offers, and are looking forward to experiencing all that NYT has to offer. Well done to all of our successful candidates, you’ll have a wonderful time!
