A Triumph at Our First Music Showcase

On Monday after school, our talented young musicians took to the stage for the very first Music Showcase of the year. The audience, filled with delighted parents, grandparents, and siblings, was treated to a series of wonderfully polished and well-prepared performances.

The afternoon featured an impressive variety of instruments, spanning voice, piano, and strings (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), through to brass (trumpet) and woodwind (bassoon, oboe, saxophone, and clarinet). It was particularly exciting to see our Endangered Instrument Scheme so vibrantly alive, demonstrating the dedication and perseverance our pupils show when mastering these unique and rewarding instruments.

Beyond performing, the children had the valuable experience of watching their peers, picking up fresh inspiration and ideas for their own musical studies. The pride in the hall was palpable, topped off by beaming smiles as each pupil completed their piece and took a well-earned bow.

A special mention goes to our two wonderful new members of staff: Mrs Cole, Teacher of Music and Mrs Liang, Graduate Music Assistant – a warm welcome to them both. They did a fantastic job assisting, accompanying, and helping the pupils prepare for the stage. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our Visiting Music Teachers for guiding and preparing the children so brilliantly for this success.

Now we can’t wait for the next Music Showcase, which is on Monday 16th November. Plenty of time to get practising!
