Planned Flyover Works at Gallows Corner – Travel Disruptions Expected

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We would like to inform you of upcoming major roadworks at Gallows Corner, which may significantly impact travel in the area. Further information is available here.

The Gallows Corner Flyover is a key transport link in the London Borough of Havering, connecting the A127 Southend Arterial Road to the A12 Eastern Avenue and bypassing the busy five-arm roundabout.

Key Dates & Disruptions:

From March – June 2025:

  • Temporary lane closures on the A127 and A12, reducing two lanes to one
  • The flyover will remain open, but there will be some overnight closures
  • Severe traffic delays expected, especially during peak hours.

From mid-June – September 2025:

  • Full closure of Gallows Corner junction, including the roundabout and flyover, to all traffic except emergency services and buses
  • Local diversion routes will be in place.

From September 2025:

  • Final phase of night-time works to restore the road surface, markings, and street furniture.

How This May Affect You:
⚠️ Expect significant delays on major roads, approach roads, and local streets.
🚗 Traffic queues will be long – try to travel before 7:30am or after 7pm when disruption may be lower.
🚌 Public transport & walking routes may be affected – check for updates.

We advise all parents to plan alternative routes where possible and allow extra time for school journeys.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this period. Please stay updated via local traffic reports.
