Prep House Cross Country
The Prep House Cross Country event was a wonderful celebration of movement, effort and resilience for all our pupils from Year 1 through to Year 6. Every child took part with determination and enthusiasm, embodying the true spirit of sport and community.
The purpose of the event was not simply about finishing places, but to celebrate the movement potential of every one of our pupils. In preparation, the children had already completed the course at least 1.5, 1.75 or even 2 times in their PE lessons, meaning that much of the hard work was done in training. On the day, the event became a chance to showcase their efforts, energy and growth.
We were delighted to be joined by a group of Senior School pupils who supported our younger runners throughout the morning, encouraging and guiding them brilliantly. Their presence highlighted the strong connections across our school community.
A particularly special moment came from the atmosphere created by our staff – we had many teachers running alongside the pupils, including our school cleaner who also laced up to join in the fun! This helped to inspire the children and reminded everyone that sport really is for all.
Miss Le Blancq shared two powerful messages with the pupils:
“Running is the greatest metaphor for life because you get out of it what you put into it.”
“Running teaches us that we are capable of so much more than we think.”
These words carried the pupils around the course and reflected the values of determination and resilience that were so evident on the day.
It was a truly memorable day that showcased the strength of our school community, the joy of movement, and the commitment of our pupils. We could not be prouder of each and every runner.

Prep Sports Fixtures Programme
We are excited to announce that our Prep sports fixture programme begins next week. Pupils in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 will take part in fixtures against St Cedd’s School, with Year 3 fixtures starting the following week.
All fixture information, including team lists, timings and venues, can be accessed via our online platform SOCS. We encourage parents to check this regularly to stay up to date. Parents can see guidance on how to use SOCS linked here.
When attending fixtures at Brentwood Prep, please park in Higgs A Car Park and make your way to the Prep Astro. Access to the school is through the brown wooden gate.
We would also like to kindly remind all parents and spectators that our Parent Code of Conduct applies to all fixtures. This is in place to ensure that fixtures remain a positive, supportive and enjoyable experience for every pupil. We ask that you encourage all players, respect officials and opposition teams, and model the highest standards of sportsmanship.
We look forward to welcoming you to support our pupils as they represent the school in what promises to be an exciting start to the season.
