Brentwood Senior School is an academically selective HMC co-educational independent school with small class sizes and a happy, ambitious and supportive staff team. It is part of Brentwood School, a 3-18 HMC school of 1900 pupils, just 35 minutes from London Liverpool Street.
We are seeking to appoint a Design Technology Lead Technician to support the Head of Department and teaching staff with the preparation of resources, operation and maintenance of workshop machinery/tools, lesson support and administration.
The successful candidate will observe strict Health & Safety guidelines and keep knowledge of this area up to date. They take the lead role in the organisation and running of the prep room and associated tasks. They will also require a strong knowledge of working with woods, metals and plastics, using a variety of machinery such as lathes, milling machines, casting, welding, sawing and abrading machinery, alongside experience using CAD CAM.
This role is part-time, 15 hours per week, term-time only plus up to three Saturdays or equivalent per year if required and all Staff INSET days. 8am – 4.15pm Monday and Tuesday (7.5 hours per day, plus 45-minute lunch unpaid).
