Lower Sixth student Ethan Brooks has enjoyed outstanding success in the final two rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship. At Silverstone on 28th and 29th September, Ethan put in a stunning lap in qualifying to qualify 2nd on the grid, just 0.012 seconds behind pole position.

As a result, Ethan came away from the race weekend with a fantastic Rookie podium finish, his first in the series. Ethan then carried this momentum into Brands Hatch, where a drying track in qualifying made conditions very tricky, but Ethan rose to the challenge again qualifying p2 and showing his true pace in the car.

After finishing an excellent 4th and top rookie in a slippery race 1, Ethan’s charge in race 2 really showed his true potential. With several safety cars, a soaking track and fading light, conditions were less than ideal but Ethan charged through from 5th on the grid to pass 3 cars in one lap and challenge for the lead. Unfortunately, he could not quite get the move done and finished 3rd overall, claiming his first overall podium and another rookie win.

Sunday brought grey skies and the prospect of more rain for the ITV4 televised race. Ethan once again rose to the challenge and a red flag halted an epic 4-car battle, which saw Ethan lead the race. Ethan was once again standing on both the overall podium with a 3rd place finish, and the rookie podium, completing a hat trick of rookie wins to complete a sensational weekend.
