We are delighted to report that two of our students gained international recognition over the February half term.

Max D (Year 9), a force to be reckoned with on the pitch, secured a coveted spot to play for the England U16 Football Team and take part in the Football Federations Cup. Max showcased his skills in the first game against Saudi Arabia, where he got an assist and England won 2-0. But that's not all - the team then went on to triumph 4-0 against Sweden, where Max came on as a substitute, before starting the next game against South Korea where England dominated and won 3-0.

To be selected for your country is an amazing achievement and Max accomplished this remarkable feat while playing alongside players two years his senior, which makes this even more special. This accomplishment is a testament to Max's unwavering commitment, which has even earned him a call-up to the Arsenal U18 squad - we're all really proud of his efforts.

But wait, there's more! Melvyn K (Year 9) has also gained international recognition earning a spot to showcase his prowess playing for the England U15 Football Team in their matches against Scotland and Belgium. This marks Melvyn's second international call-up this year following a stint with the U15 France squad, a true testament to his outstanding skills, and he is certainly a player in demand!

Melyn's hard work continues to pay off as he goes from strength to strength for Tottenham Hotspur and we are all very proud of the way he is conducting himself on and off the pitch.

Having not one, but two students in the same year group play for their country is spectacular, and with other powerhouse players in Year 9, we hope this phenomenal group will bring home some national silverware for Brentwood in the future.
